TITLE: Professional License, Certifications & Cards

New hires will not be reimbursed or paid to obtain the required or initial professional licensure, certifications and cards, as this is a requirement or expectation to be hired for the position.
It is the sole responsibility of the employee to assure that they fulfill all training requirements outlined in their Job Description and to keep any professional licensures/certifications current. It is the responsibility of the employee to ensure that the front office obtains the needed licensure, certifications or cards.
Evergreen Estates will reimburse employees for renewal of professional licensures & certifications when the required document is received by the front office. It is the employee’s responsibility to turn in proof of a new professional licensure & certification.
Nursing assistants must complete 12 CEUs prior to their birthday each year. If the employee fails to complete these 12 CEUs they will be removed from the work schedule until this task is completed. The employee is responsible for informing the front office of the completion of this requirement.
Renewal of CPR & First Aid cards can be obtained by attending a free class that is offered by Evergreen. Since these classes are taught by Evergreen for free the employee will NOT be reimbursed for these cards and will not be paid for attendance. Renewed CPR & First Aide cards will count toward the mandatory 12 CEU(s) at 1.5 hours per class completed.
Food handler cards can be obtained via web-based training or in-person at the Asotin County Health Department. Evergreen will NOT reimburse employees for renewing this card. Renewing this card will count at 1 hour toward the mandatory 12 CEU(s)
N95 fitting is to be accomplished annually and is free at Tri-State Hospital. N95 fitting doesn’t count toward the mandatory 12 CEU(s)
Employees who do not obtain the needed training, certifications and professional licensing within the time limits established will be removed from the work scheduled. Failure to remove the employee from the schedule may place Evergreen at risk of a violation of the regulations that govern our facility.
Employees who are removed from the schedule may be given an additional 14-days to obtain the required training, certifications or licensing. Failure to obtain the needed documents will result in the employee’s termination.
Employees who obtain the needed documents later may re-apply for employment if they are terminated. Terminated employees are not guaranteed to be placed back on the same work schedule as they had, due to the other employees requesting and being granted the vacated position.
