TITLE: Meal & Monthly Meal Cards
REVISED: January 1, 2026

Employees who wish to eat meals that are served or obtain food items from our salad bar are required to have a valid monthly employee meal card. If the employee does not have a valid monthly employee meal card, then the employee will be treated as a guest and will be charged our current rate for a guest meal.

Exception: Birthday Dinner and those holidays we recognize in our Employee Handbook are free to those employees who are actively working during that mealtime. Flag Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc. are not free meal days.

Full-time employees will be charged $50 and Part-time employees will be charged $25.

Meal cards will not be pro-rated for the number of days remaining in the month, except for new employees who purchase a meal card in the month they are hired.

There is no charge for refreshments.

Cooks and/or the Dietary Manager have authority as to which food items may be served to employees, based on the needs of the residents. This means the desired food item of an employee may not be available due to availability of projected residents’ needs.

Employees may not use a monthly meal card to purchase a meal for non-employees. Current guest fees will apply.

Purchased meal cards are only good for the employee named on the card.

Employee meal cards will be purchased at the front desk only. Checks and cash are acceptable forms of payment. Returned checks will incur a $25.00 fee that must be paid by the employee.

In the event a person is no longer employed at Evergreen Estates, that person is not entitled to a reimbursement of any unused cards.

Employees may not package items to be taken home or eaten later.

Cooks only are required to taste their food during the day to ensure they are serving a good meal. Tasting is not considered a meal; however, the Dietary Manager is responsible for ensuring that this procedure is not being taken advantage of.
