TITLE: Parking & Speeding / Distracted Driving
REVISED: January 1, 2026
PARKING
Due to the physical capabilities and age of our residents and their visitors, employees may only park their vehicles in the following areas:
• Small parking area near our dumpsters in the West rear of the building
• Along the length of the white fence in the East parking lot
• Along the building in the Southeast area
Employees will not park or store their vehicles, trailers or ATVs in any of our parking lots when not actively at work.
SPEEDING AND DISTRACTED DRIVING
Speeding on the medical campus and in facility-owned parking lots is strictly prohibited. Our elderly residents and the patients of the hospital often walk around the campus, and these individuals are often hidden behind parked cars or can’t be seen. Our residents and hospital patients are often unable to move quickly to remove them from harm of a speeding vehicle.
To further reduce the risk of harm to our elderly residents and the patients of the hospital, use of a hand-held phone or electronic device (e.g., cell phone, smartphone, tablet, pager), even a hand-free system, or engaging in other distractions, while driving on the medical campus and in facility-owned parking lots is strictly prohibited. Employees are expected to come to a complete stop in a safe manner and in a safe location, and cease operation of the vehicle, before using any hands-held phone or electronic device or engaging in any other distractions.
