HEAR WHAT OUR RESIDENTS AND FAMILIES ARE SAYING

Below are written testimonials from residents that have decided to call Evergreen Estates their home. What is one of the best parts of living at Evergreen? Your close friends and neighbors are just down the hall.

“I have been very happy living at Evergreen Estates and everything seems to run very smoothly. Most of the employees in the dining room knew my name within three or four days, which I found very impressive. “

“This is our home, it is a very comfortable place to live. The location is very important to us, being close to all the medical facilities. Plus, we have very friendly, nice, caring, and efficient staff who are available 24 hours a day, if needed.”

“When I started looking at facilities, I decided Evergreen Estates was the place for me. They have friendly employees, very good food, a helpful maintenance crew, the hospital nearby, and all my living necessities are included in one, easy monthly check. I am happier here than I was at home. “

“I am glad I have been able to call Evergreen Estates my home this past three years. It is a place where we are all family. We appreciate all the amazing people who work here and help make our lives safer, and better, every day.”

“In 2016, our dad, Dutch Kuykendall, in his nineties, needed a living facility that would provide his meals, laundry and housekeeping care that my mother had always provided. We heard that Evergreen Estates served the best meals so we chose a one-bedroom apartment on the first floor. By sharing meals with him, we have learned the food is excellent and the administration and staff are caring and relational. They try to immediately accommodate him to meet any new need. We also realize how important community is when our dad says, “it’s like family”. He is completing seven years with Evergreen and we are so thankful we found this second home.”

“I live at Evergreen Estates and I have a very comfortable apartment with everything I could ever need.We have a beautiful dining room and the food is excellent. There is always plenty to do: games, shopping, crafts, and road trips. There are activity rooms and a very good library. We have nice walking areas and outside seating with beautiful plants and flowers.

The best part about Evergreen is the people who do it all, and who are always so kind and considerate, happy and upbeat.”

“I would like to commend the staff at Evergreen Estates, Pete Camerlo, Lisa Abbott, and the so many others! My father-in-law, aka Dad, has been a resident there now for 6 years and I have nothing but absolute praise for the entire crew!

Through the craziness of their remodel 4 or 5 years ago, which turned out beautiful, they kept all of the residents informed as to what was going on and when. When residents needed to be temporarily relocated during to the remodel, they did it with the least amount of stress and inconvenience to the residents and their families. Then, when all seemed to get back to normal and everyone could enjoy the new and beautiful facility, COVID hit!!

With the many health and State restrictions that were placed, I know this was as difficult for the staff as it was for the families. The staff and administration were having to care for the residents and deal with frustrated families. However, through all of the chaos, they kept a smile on their faces and continued to keep the resident’s needs, both emotionally and physically, their number one priority.

Moving Dad out of his home and into Evergreen was the best decision we have ever made. Dad lives independently for the most part, but has assistance as needed. Rather than sitting at home eating meals alone, he is with friends. I no longer worry about if he took his medication correctly. There are so many wonderful things to say about Evergreen.

Thank you for your love, laughter, your care, and support not, only for the residents of Evergreen but to their families. You are so appreciated.”

“My wife, Dorry, and I had been married for 70 years and it had come to the spot where we needed help. It was getting hard for me to keep up the yard and doing the housework was more of a chore than we wanted in our golden years. Our family contacted Evergreen Estates and the first thing we knew, we moved into a very nice two-bedroom apartment along with other seniors who are in the same situation as we are.

One of the first things we noticed was how friendly everyone was. It is quite a treat to not to have any chores other than what we want to do. This COVD-19 thing was not what we had planned on, but Evergreen staff figured out ways to live with it and we are doing fine.

Dorry passed away in November of this past year, so now I am on my own. The staff does a fine job of taking care of my needs. I am well taken care of in the food department; I look forward to my meals and the comradery of the dining room.

They have many activities going on each day. I don’t partake in all of them, but they are there when I feel the need.We are close to Tri-State Memorial and they furnish us with transportation when we have doctors’ appointments.

It is a well-run and maintained facility; they are doing an excellent job.

I highly recommend Evergreen Estates to people who have reached their golden years.”

“My mother moved into an independent living apartment at Evergreen Estates over three years ago. Evergreen takes care of heat, water, garbage, room cleaning, maintenance and all meals. They have added a new wing of rooms and done extensive remodeling throughout the facility. The whole building is very clean and inviting. There is no “institution” smell. When walking down the hallways, there are beautiful, interesting artworks to enjoy. The Evergreen staff is friendly and helpful. They know their residents and family members and go out of their way to fill whatever needs there may be. Maintenance staff quickly make any needed repairs and help with things like hanging a picture or a flat screen tv. Meals are good and are available at convenient times in a nice dining area. There is a library full of books, activities throughout the week and occasional trips to stores or just a ride. When it came time to move my mother’s sister from her home, there was no question that Evergreen was the place for her also. She has now been at Evergreen for over a year and is pleased with her new home.”

“Evergreen Estates has been a huge blessing to our family.

My mom and sister have lived there for over six years and have received excellent care. The staff have guided residents through difficult circumstances ahead of, and during the pandemic, with protocols to keep them safe.

Evergreen provides opportunities for residents to participate in many activities such as Bingo, crafts, movies, etc.

Residents are treated with compassion and care and are regarded as family. We are grateful for Evergreen Estates.”
